About Us
Who We Are:
The Live Oak Housing Authority (LOHA) was created by The City of Live Oak, Florida in 1951. Today, we are a nonprofit organization that owns and operates affordable housing within the city limits.
Our Mission Statement:
Our mission is to assist low-income families with decent, sanitary, and affordable housing opportunities as they strive to achieve self-sufficiency and improve their lives. We are committed to operating in an efficient, ethical, professional manner, and promoting a community environment that is free from discrimination.
What We Do:
We help low-income families and individuals find and keep decent, sanitary, non-discriminatory, attractive, and affordable housing in nurturing The City of Live Oak communities. This provides stability and peace of mind needed to reach goals and achieve greater self-sufficiency. We also connect residents to additional resources of benefit.
Who We Help:
We assist good people from all walks of life. Many are elderly, disabled, or have experienced hardships that have prevented them from achieving financial stability.
How We Do It:
Live Oak Housing Authority currently owns 104 public housing units, divided between three sections across The City of Live Oak. McMullen Heights, Harmony Triangle, and Phillips Pine are the three locations we operate. We use our funding to offset the cost of rent for our tenants, who pay well below fair market rates at amounts based on household income.
